Newsone Nigeria reports that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has admitted to errors in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.
This online news platform understands that the Registrar of the Board, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed this during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, where he broke down in tears.
“What should have been a moment of joy has changed due to one or two errors,” Oloyede said.
According to him, “we set all machineries in order, regardless, there were still errors.”

This follows JAMB’s admission that it had received an unusually high number of complaints regarding discrepancies in candidates’ scores.
The development came after reports of poor performance in the recently concluded 2025 UTME.
Newsone recalls that JAMB had promised that if any glitches are identified, appropriate remedial measures will be implemented promptly.
The 2025 UTME results saw 78 per cent of candidates score less than 200 of the 400 maximum obtainable points.
