Meanwhile, News-One Nigeria reports that Abure’s arrest is coming a week after the National Working Committee of the Labour Party slammed a six-month suspension on its National Treasurer, Oluchi Opara.
This online news platform understands that the suspension of the Labour Party National Treasurer was announced at a press conference on Wednesday at the party secretariat in Abuja.
On Monday, February 12, 2024, Opara challenged LP National Chairman, Julius Abure, at a press conference to account for an alleged N3.5 billion raised from the sale of nomination forms and fundraising activities in the build-up to the 2023 general election.
While speaking on Arise TV’s ‘Good Morning Show’ on Tuesday, Opara again claimed the Abure-led NWC is working hand-in-hand with the Edo State Government which is governed by the opposition – the Peoples Democratic Party.
