Lagos State has recorded 15 new COVID-19 cases despite lockdown.

Newsone Nigeria reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed 15 new COVID-19 cases in Lagos in a tweet on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Wednesday evening, April 8.

This burgeoning online news platform recalls that the Federal Government on March 29, ordered a total lockdown for residents of Lagos, Abuja and Ogun States to curb the spread of COVID-19. President Muhammadu Buhari made the announcement during a broadcast.

But despite the lockdown, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 15 new COVID-19 cases in Lagos, bringing the number of cases of coronavirus in Lagos to one hundred and forty-five (145) COVID-19 cases.

The  NCDC tweeted: “Twenty-two new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 15 in Lagos, 4 in the FCT, 2 in Bauchi, 1 in Edo As at 09:00 pm 8th April there are 276 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Forty-four have been discharged with six deaths.

Meanwhile, Newsone Nigeria reports that the development means that Nigeria’s total confirmed cases of coronavirus have risen to two hundred and seventy-six (276) with forty-four(44) people discharged and six (6 ) deaths recorded.
