A suit has been filed against the Oyo government by Fulani Herdsmen under the aegis of the Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria.
YaahooJournalist reports that the Fulani Herdsmen filed the suit against the state government led by Governor Seyi Makinde and the State House of Assembly on Thursday, January 2.
The Fulani Herdsmen it was learned, sued the Oyo Government over an anti-grazing law recently passed by the government.
According to the Fulani Herdsmen, the anti-grazing law is a gross violation of their fundamental rights.
Apart from the State government and the Oyo State Assembly, the Fulani Herdsmen also listed the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in the state, Prof. Oyelowo Oyewo as a defendant in the lawsuit.
Meanwhile, YaahooJournalist understands that the anti-grazing law which had been debated, passed by the Oyo State Assembly and signed into law by the executive arm of government in the southwest state, was aimed at checking persistent farmers-herders clash in the state.
