BREAKING: Nigeria National Grid Collapses for The Second Time in 3 Days

Nigeria National Grid has collapsed for the second time in 3 days.

Newsone Nigeria reports that the national grid has collapsed for the second time in three days, throwing millions of households nationwide into darkness.

This online news platform understands that the bulk power supply was disrupted around 11:20 am on Thursday, November 7, 2024, according to a post published on the micro-blogging site, X formerly known as Twitter by Nigeria National Grid via @NationalGridNg.

Nigeria National Grid via @NationalGridNg tweeted: “BREAKING: Another Grid Setback Experienced.”

This is the second time the grid has collapsed this week and the twelfth time in the last eleven months.

The development has stirred mixed reactions on social media among Nigerians.

Meanwhile, Newsone reports that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has not issued an official statement on the reason the grid collapsed again on Thursday.

However, TCN blamed the national grid collapse on lines and generator trips on Tuesday.

This comes as the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu on Wednesday received an investigative report on the incessant grid collpase in Nigeria. Although, the details have not been unveiled to the public.

Recently, Nigerians called for the sacking of the Minister of Power under President Bola Tinubu’s administration over incessant national grid collapses.
