Nigeria is set to ban flights from UK over a new deadlier COVID-19 type.

NewsOne Nigeria understands that the Federal Government of Nigeria led by President Muhammadu Buhari, is mulling the idea of banning all flights from the UK as soon as possible over a new deadlier Covid-19 strain.

A report filed by CityNews Nigeria quoted sources to have said that President Buhari government is not taking chances of a possible transmission of the new deadlier and more contagious Covid-19 which has just been discovered in the United Kingdom.

According to the report, sources say the federal government through Joint Task Force (JTF) on Covid-19 may release the statement banning all UK flights into Nigerian airspace in order to forestall possible transmission from passengers coming home for yuletide celebrations.

The development is coming after the Dutch government today banned all flights from the United Kingdom over the new development which is giving serious cause for concern to UK and EU authorities.
