The Nigerian Senate has confirmed Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the new CJN.
Newsone Nigeria reports that Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun’s confirmation as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) comes after hours of screening by Nigerian senators on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
With the confirmation, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun becomes the 23rd Chief Justice of Nigeria.
This online news platform recalls that Kudirat Kekere-Ekun has been serving as Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria since August following the retirement of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola.
President Bola Tinubu swore in Kekere-Ekun as the second female CJN in an acting capacity in August 2024.
