NLC and TUC strike has been suspended.

Newsone Nigeria reports that organized labour, comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), has suspended the nationwide strike in Nigeria.

This online news platform understands that the suspension of the strike is coming after the Labour leaders had a meeting with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, George Akume, and other government officials on Monday night and reached a resolution that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was committed to a new minimum wage higher than N60,000.

The suspension which gives room for uninterrupted meetings with the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage was confirmed by TUC chairman, Festus Osifo on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

Meanwhile, Newsone understands that the NLC and TUC strike was suspended for five days.
