Newsone Nigeria reports that a suspected notorious kidnapper, Chinaza Philip, terrorising the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, and its neighbouring state, has been arrested by the officials of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

This online news platform understands Chinaza Philip’s arrest was disclosed in a statement issued by the Spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh.

The statement said the notorious Abuja kidnapper Chinaza Philip was arrested on Thursday, January 18, 2024, by the Kaduna State Police Command.

According to the statement, “The FCT Police Command wishes to confirm the arrest of one Chinaza Phillip, a notorious Abuja kidnapper, by police operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command on Thursday, 18th January 2024.

“The suspect has been handed over to FCT Police Command today being Friday 19th January 2024, and currently in police custody,” she said.

Meanwhile, Newsone recalls that the Nigeria Police had declared Chinaza Phillip as one of the notorious kidnappers in Abuja.

The arrest of the notorious kidnapper marks a crucial victory in the fight against crime in the nation’s capital. It will also bring relief to FCT residents who have been living in fear in the recent past following the upsurge of kidnappings in the territory.

On Thursday night, January 18, 2024, stormed the Nigerian Army Post Housing Scheme in the Kurudu area of Abuja, the nation’s capital, abducting two residents.

Those who were abducted by the gunmen when they invaded the Army Estate in Abuja include the wife and one of the in-laws of a lawyer, Cyril Adikwu. The incident, according to a neighbour of the victims, occurred around 10:00 pm in the Phase 2 area of the estate.
