Newsone Nigeria reports that a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed has approached the court seeking an ex parte order to hold the party’s National Executive Council, NEC meeting.
This online news platform recalls that some governors elected under PDP and led by Mohammed had moved to remove acting national chairman Amb Umar Damagum.
The move deepened the PDP crisis as some stakeholders, especially those loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike opposed the move.
Abuja Division of the Federal High Court had also issued an order barring the party from removing Damagum.
The suit by Mohammed’s faction was filed at the Federal High Court in Zamfara State.
