PDP Suspends Dogara, Senator Hunkuyi, 13 Others (Full List)
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended Dogara, Senator Hunkuyi and 13 others.
NewsOne Nigeria reports that the Kaduna State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Working Committee suspended Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, Dr Dogara Mato and five others for anti-party activities in from Lere local government area.
The Kaduna State Working Committee (SWC) of the opposition party took the decision to suspend the members after a preliminary hearing on discipline.
A statement at the end of the SWC meeting by the Kaduna State PDP Publicity Secretary, Abraham Alberah Catoh, said the suspension is in line with the provision of the party constitution as provided in Section 57(3) 2017, as amended.
Apart from Dogara and Senator Hunkuyi, other members suspended by the PDP include Ibrahim Lazuru (Lere Local Government); Dr John Danfulani (Kachia Local Government); Lawal Imam Adamu (Soba Local Government); Ubale Salmanduna (Zaria Local Government) and Hon. Hashim Garba (Kubau Local Government).
The statement reads as thus; “That the said members stand suspended from the party from today, the 16th day of May 2020 and will be expected to appear before the Disciplinary committee on a date and time to be announced by the committee.
“The SWC further resolved that Col. Dauda Albehu Gora, is not a registered member of the PDP and therefore, he is an impersonator.
“The party has submitted his name to all security agencies to take note of his activities. We shall take necessary action against him should he continue with his activities against the PDP” the publicity Secretary stated.
Although they have been suspended, the suspension notice in the media, one of the suspended member, Dr Danfulani said, he has not been served but based on what he was told as the content of the statement, suspending them based on an allegation of anti-party activities without giving them fair hearing is uncalled for and should not be taken seriously.
Like Kaduna PDP, the Plateau State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Working Committee has suspended eight members of the party for floating a factional state’s Caretaker Committee.
NewsOne Nigeria reports that this was disclosed in a statement on Saturday by the Committee’s head of media, John Akans.
The Committee’s head of media disclosed that the Working Committee decided to suspend the members during its emergency meeting on Friday evening. According to the Committee’s head of media, the suspension takes immediate effect.
The statement reads as thus; “The Working Committee, an arm of the Plateau Caretaker Committee at its emergency meeting on Friday evening at the party’s secretariat, reviewed the unfortunate incident that took place at the secretariat.
“Some group of rascals mischievously constituted themselves into a caretaker committee, which is an affront to the national leadership of our party, under the leadership of Prince Uche Secondus.
“The state leadership of the party frowned at these decedents and therefore approved their immediate suspension from PDP.
“Seven of the affected people are Nandom Penap Exodus, Godwin W. Bedir, Akims Mamot, Mrs Asabe Dareng, Nathaniel Dakas, Jacob Dashe, and Alhaji Kabiru Musa,” the Plateau PDP said in the statement
