A police officer who killed Bolanle Raheem has been sentenced to death by hanging.

This online news platform understands that the presiding judge,  Justice Ibironke Harrison held that the prosecution, the Lagos State Government, has proven the case against the convict beyond all reasonable doubt.

“The court finds the defendant guilty on one count of murder. You will be hanged by the neck till you are dead.” the judge held.

Newsone Nigeria recalls that on Sunday, December 25, 2022, Bolanle Raheem who was pregnant at the time, was shot dead in an incident involving Vandi and other police officers at the Ajah underbridge, Lagos.

ASP Vandi was said to have pulled the trigger, with the bullet piercing the chest of the deceased. The lawyer was declared dead at the third hospital she was taken to after the shooting incident.
