A popular Lagos Oba, the Oniru of Iruland, Oba Idowu Abiodun Oniru, has passed away.
YaahooJournalist reports that the popular Lagos Oba died in the early hours of Monday, September 23, in Lagos after a brief illness.
Oba Oniru, who is the father of On-Air personality Tolu Demuren (a.k.a Toolz), died aged 82, 17 days after he celebrated his birthday.
The popular first-class Lagos Oba celebrated his 82nd birthday on September 6, 2019.
Oba Oniru was survived by wives, children among whom are former Lagos State Commissioner for Waterfront Adesegun Oniru, Justice Aishat Opesanwo, On-Air personality Tolu Demuren (a.k.a Toolz), grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The popular Lagos Oba succeeded his father in 1995.
Oba Oniru was born on September 6, 1947, and the 12th of the 15 children of the long-reigning Oba Yesufu Oniru, who died at the age 120.
