President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday approved the appointment of Sarki Auwalu as the Director of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).
YaahooJournalist reports that President Buhari’s approval was made known in a statement by Femi Adesina, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity on Wednesday, December 18.
Auwalu who is a chemical engineer has been a driving force of the DPR, which he joined in 1998 as Principal Chemical Engineer.
YaahooJournalist reports that Auwalu would head the Department for an initial term of four years.
Auwalu is a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and had his post-graduate studies at Bayero University, Kano, and PETRAD Norway, PetroSkill USA, among other institutions.
The new Director is Associate Member, Institute of Chemical Engineers, UK; Member, Society of Petroleum Engineers; Member, Nigerian Society of Engineers; and Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN).
