Some robbers terrorizing Igando community in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city have been caught.

NewsOne Nigeria understands that the Igando robbers were caught on Monday night, April 13 by Igando residents amid the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown extension declared by President Muhammadu Buhari.

A video uploaded by one Thompson Jotham showed the moment the robbers were apprehended by the residents of Igando community. The video showed the residents of the community pouring petrol on the suspected robbers while their hands were tied and their eyes blindfolded.

Giving an update on the robbery in Igando,  Thompson Jotham tweeted: “Live in Igando. Jungle justice about to take place,” he captioned a video showing the moment suspected hoodlums were caught and about to be burnt alive by residents of Igando.

Meanwhile, NewsOne Nigeria had reported earlier that residents of Igando took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter to give scary updates regarding the robbery.

Giving an update of the situation in Igando, a Twitter user by name Ogundeji, tweeted: “Those of us living within Egan Igando are not sleeping tonight, we are currently camped outside because they are currently robbing the bus stop before oursTired face Please @PoliceNG kindly contact your station at Igando so they can do something before it gets out of hand.”


Another Twitter user and a resident of Igando, Ada Okija tweeted: “Please Pray for us oh.. Also call the Emergency numbers. Adenson, Vulcanizer by Akesan Igando road is being robbed now.”


Sylva, another resident of Igando, tweeted: “Robbery attacks going on in some part of Igando…… Few Street away from my house sef loudly crying face loudly crying face… God who we offend bayii.”hern


Another tweeted: “Igando under attack. Ijegun boys moving out to mount bus stop since are in close proximity. Zero loose guard.”

Meanwhile, this is came a few hours after President Muhamadu Buhari extended lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja for another 14 days.
