Newsone reports that the Emir of Dutse in Jigawa State, Dr. Nuhu Sanusi died at the age of 78 in an Abuja hospital after a protracted illness, on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
This online news platform understands that the Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal Sankara, in a condolence message, described the late Emir as a bridge builder, and a kind and humane personality.
The statement lauded the contribution of the late Alhaji Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi to the development of the state.
“May the soul of the late Emir rest in peace and may the memories of his life bring comfort and solace to those he leaves behind,” the statement said.
The statement described the late Emir as a true leader and a respected figure in the community, known for his wisdom, compassion, and dedication to the well-being of his people.
In the statement, the Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar who expressed his condolences to the family and entire people of the state, also recognized the Emir’s contributions to the growth and development of Dutse and the positive impact he had on the community.
Born in 1945 at Yargaba village in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State, Dr. Sanusi attended Dutse Elementary School from 1952 to 1956.
After his post-primary education, he obtained a National Certificate in Education from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and later a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in International Business from Ohio University, United States of America.
He further obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Analysis from Bradford University, United Kingdom.
The emir was awarded an honorary Ph.D. in Management by the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State.
Late Emir Nuhu Sanusi acquired substantial experience in agricultural consultancy and industrial and commercial management after working for several years.
