Supreme Court has delivered a final judgment on Delta Governorship Election.
Newsone Nigeria reports that the Supreme Court of Nigeria has affirmed the election of the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party.
The apex court, in a unanimous decision on Friday, January 19, 2024, by a five-member panel, dismissed an appeal the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, filed to challenge the outcome of the governorship election that was held in the state on March 18, 2023.
In its lead judgment delivered by Justice Inyang Okoro, the Supreme Court held that the appeal lacked merit.
