Supreme Court Delivers Final Judgment On President Tinubu’s Election Victory
Supreme Court has delivered a final judgment on President Tinubu’s election victory.
Newsone reports that the Supreme Court of Nigeria has dismissed the appeal by Atiku Abubakar and the PDP against the September 6 judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), affirming the election of President Bola Tinubu.
This online news platform understands that the Supreme Court in a lead judgment read by Justice John Okoro, which the seven-man panel unanimously with, the court resolved all the seven issues identified for determination against the appellants.
The other panel members are Justices Uwani Abba-Aji, Mohammed Garba Lawal, Ibrahim Saulawa, Adamu Jauro, Tijani Abubakar, and Emmanuel Agim.
Newsone Nigeria reports that the Supreme Court of Nigeria upheld the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) and proceeded to affirm President Tinubu’s election victory.
“On the whole, having resolved all the issues against the appellant, it is my view that there is no merit in the appeal and it is hereby dismissed,” Justice Inyang Okoro said.
“The judgment of the court below delivered on September 6th 2023 affirming the election of the second respondent as the duly elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is hereby affirmed.”
Meanwhile, Newsone Nigeria reports that Atiku had approached the court to overturn the judgment of the presidential election petition tribunal which affirmed Tinubu’s election as president.
