Tanker has exploded in Ogun State, leaving one dead and scores of cars burnt.
NewsOne Nigeria reports that a fuel tanker has exploded in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, southwest Nigeria, burning several vehicles and leaving one person suspected dead.
This online news platform understands that the fuel tanker exploded around 8:15 am on Tuesday morning, January 19, on the Presidential Boulevard Road around Guaranty Trust Bank opposite Lawson Group School, Kuto, Abeokuta in Ogun State, southwest Nigeria.
NewsOne Nigeria learned that the fuel tanker was reportedly carrying 33,000 litres of petrol.
According to eyewitnesses, the fuel tanker lost control while descending from an overhead bridge. It hit a motorcycle in motion and rammed into some commercial vehicles waiting for passengers at the end of the bridge.
