Confusion As APC Lists PDP Senator In Tinubu Campaign Council

Two PDP reps have dumped the party for APC.

Newsone Nigeria reports that the two members of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, October 7, dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party.

The two PDP reps are Ephraim Nwuzi, representing Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency in Rivers State, south-south Nigeria and David Abel from Gashaka/Kurmi/Sardauna Federal Constituency in Taraba State, northern Nigeria.

Femi Gbajabiamila, the speaker of the House of Representatives, disclosed this while reading letters of their defection on the floor of the house during plenary.

Reacting to their defection, Toby Okechukwu, the Deputy Minority Leader; Ndudi Elumelu, Minority Leader; and Kingsley Chinda, leader of the PDP caucus, urged Gbajabiamila to declare their seats vacant.

Gbajabiamila, however, faulted the point of order raised by the opposition leaders.

The Speaker described them as hypocrites, adding that PDP failed to lay the foundation of sanctioning illegal defections while in power.

“Like you used to tell me, your points are noted. Any more defections?” Gbajabiamila asked.
