Nigeria has been granted leave by the United Kingdom Commercial and Arbitration Court, to appeal a previous judgment that asked the Nigerian government to pay $9.6bn worth of assets to Process and Industrial Developments Limited (P&ID), a company on the British Virgin Islands.

YaahooJournalist reports that judgment came on Thursday, September 26 after several court cases saw some of the officials of the company pleading guilty.

The application for a stay of execution is currently being heard in the United Kingdom court.

Nigeria’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, and other senior attorneys are in the United Kingdom to represent Nigeria.
