Wike Loyalist, Martin Chike ‘Emerges’ Rivers Assembly Speaker
Martin Chike has reportedly emerged as Rivers Assembly Speaker.
Newsone Nigeria reports that Rt. Hon. Martin Chike, a loyalist of the former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has been recognized as the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
This online news platform understands that Martin Chike was recognized as the speaker at the New Year celebration organized by the Rivers State government. The bulletin printed for the programme has his picture and position as speaker.
The development is coming a few days after Rt. Hon. (Barr) Ehie Ogerenye Edison- Ph.D, DSSRS resigned as the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly. Ehie Ogerenye Edison later emerged as the Chief of Staff to Governor Sim Fubara.
Newsone recalls President Bola Ahmed Tinubu intervened in the political crisis that erupted the political scene of Rivers state last month. A Presidential resolution was reached at the time.
Martin Chike Amaehwule‘s recognition as the Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly by the Rivers State Government is believed to be in line with the Presidential Resolution.
