Presidential aide has died of COVID-19.

NewsOne Nigeria reports that the Federal government of Nigeria under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, has lost another professor to Coronavirus (COVID-19).

This online news platform understands that the deceased, Femi Odekunle, was a member of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC).

Boss Mustapha, the chairman of the presidential task force on COVID-19 and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, announced during Tuesday’s briefing of the panel that a prominent citizen had died as a result of the virus.

“A good friend of this government just passed on at 6:30pm,” SGF Mustapha was quoted to have said supposedly in respect of Odekunle’s death.

The  death of the Presidential aide came several months after President Muhammadu Buhari lost his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, to the virus.

Odekunle was said to have died at the Gwagwalada COVID-19 isolation centre in Abuja.

The Presidential aide joined a growing list of professors, amongst other prominent Nigerians, who have lost their lives to the dreaded virus.

Enema Amodu, the FCT chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), had said last week that no fewer than 20 consultants and professors, amongst other resident doctors, had died of COVID-19 within the space of one week.
