The complete list of salary structure and allowances paid to Nigerian senators and members of the House of Representatives have emerged.
YaahooJournalist understands that the salary structure and allowances according to a document prepared by the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and published on bpsr.gov.ng (the official website of Bureau of Public Service Reforms), shows that the President of Nigeria’s Senate has an annual take-home pay of 8,694,848:75 (N8.69m) while the monthly salary is N724,570:72.
The document shows that the Deputy Senate President has an annual take-home pay of 8,082,083:65 (N8.0m) while the monthly pay is N673,507:00.
YaahooJournalist understands that the allowances of the Senate President and his deputy are not included in the figures above. They are marked TBP (To be provided) in the website publication.
The document also revealed that the annual salary, including allowances, for other members of the Senate, according to RMAFC, is 12,766,320:00 (12.7m).
On a monthly basis, a Nigerian senator receives salary and allowances amounting to 1,063,860:00 (N1.06m).
The document shows that the Speaker of the House of Representatives receives 4,954,220:00 (N4.95m) annually and N412,851:66 monthly, excluding allowances.
