BREAKING: Court Delivers Judgement On Funke Akindele's COVID-19 Lockdown Violation

NCDC Ambassador, Funke Akindele, has dared President Muhammadu Buhari by hosting house party despite COVD-19 lockdown.

Newsone Nigeria recalls that President Buhari had on March 29, ordered a total lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja over the outbreak of coronavirus in Nigeria.

President Buhari stopped all movements in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun to contain the COVID-19 pandemic in a presidential broadcast on Sunday evening, March 29.

This burgeoning online news platform understands that the President said the no-movement order will be for an initial period of 14 days.

President Buhari said: “Based on the advice of the Federal Ministry of Health and the NCDC, I am directing the cessation of all movements in Lagos and the FCT for an initial period of 14 days with effect from 11 pm on Monday, 30th March 2020. This restriction will also apply to Ogun State due to its close proximity to Lagos and the high traffic between the two States.

“All citizens in these areas are to stay in their homes. Travel to or from other states should be postponed. All businesses and offices within these locations should be fully closed during this period.

“The Governors of Lagos and Ogun States, as well as the Minister of the FCT, have been notified. Furthermore, heads of security and intelligence agencies have also been briefed.

“We will use this containment period to identify, trace and isolate all individuals that have come into contact with confirmed cases. We will ensure the treatment of confirmed cases while restricting further spread to other States.

“This order does not apply to hospitals and all related medical establishments as well as organizations in healthcare-related manufacturing and distribution,” the President had said.

However, Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, who is an ambassador of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) shunned the order, holding house party with more than 25 people in attendance against an order by the Lagos State Government, banning social gathering of more than 25 people.

Newsone Nigeria reports that the birthday party took place on Saturday at their home in Amen Estate with singer Naira Marley in attendance. In a video that has gone viral on the internet, JJC Skillz and his wife were seen dancing with their guests who came to celebrate with them at the crowded house party.
