At least two operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have been killed in a fatal car accident along the Abuja-Kaduna road.

YaahooJournalist reports that the accident took place during the evening hours of Friday, September 27.

The development is coming after reports in some section of the media suggested that the DSS operatives were killed by armed bandits.

YaahooJournalist understands that the deaths were confirmed in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya

Afunanya debunked speculation that they were killed by bandits, adding that the incident occurred at Gidan Busa Katari, along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.

“The team was heading to one of the States in the North-West zone for an operation when the Hilux vehicle in which they were travelling somersaulted”, Afunanya said.

“Two (2) persons died in the accident while another was injured. He is presently receiving required attention in a medical facility.

“This clarification has become necessary in order to debunk fake news making the round that the gallant officers were attacked by bandits,” Afunanya added.

The DSS spokesman called on the public to shun any contrary information regarding the death of the officials.
