Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, has questioned the ruling of the presidential election petition tribunal in favour of President Muhammadu Buhari.
YaahooJournalist had reported earlier on Wednesday, that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) dismissed the petition of the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Justice Mohammed Garba, who led a five-man panel of justices, said while delivering judgment: “This petition is accordingly, and hereby dismissed in its entirety.
“In the final result, and I have come to the conclusion which is inevitable and unavoidable, that the petitioners have not proved any of the grounds of the petition in paragraph 15 of the petition.
“This petition is accordingly and hereby dismissed in its entirety.”
Reacting to the ruling of the tribunal on Twitter on Wednesday evening, Fani-Kayode said if anyone is surprised by today’s ruling “then they still don’t understand the nature of the beast we are fighting and the gravity of the situation we are in.”
Fani-Kayode, who is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, added that “they didn’t just rig the election, they rigged the courts too.”
The former Minister added that President Buhari led the administration “control all 3 arms of government” in the country.
“If anyone is surprised by today’s ruling in the @Atiku /@MBuhari case then they still don’t understand the nature of the beast we are fighting and the gravity of the situation we are in. They didn’t just rig the election, they rigged the courts too! They control ALL 3 arms of Govt,” he tweeted.
