Favour Benson Condemns Kebbi Kidnapping, Kwara Church Attack: “These Tragedies Must Never Become Our Norm”

JTAH Foundation Director, Favour Benson

Favour Benson, the Executive Director of Jashabel Touch-A-Heart Foundation (JTAH Foundation), has strongly condemned the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the deadly attack on a church in Kwara State, describing both tragedies as painful, heartbreaking, and completely unacceptable.

Gunmen had stormed the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State on Tuesday, abducting 25 schoolgirls and killing the school’s Vice Principal, Hassan Yakubu Makuku. In Kwara State, worshippers at a parish of the Christ Apostolic Church were attacked during service, with a disturbing livestream of the incident now circulating online.

Reacting in a statement, Favour Benson expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the victims and their families.
“My heart goes out to the young girls kidnapped in Kebbi State and to their families. No family deserves this kind of pain,” she said.

She also joined others, including singer Davido, in condemning the attack in Kwara State.
“I am deeply saddened by the tragic attack on the church in Kwara State. I pray for the families who lost loved ones and for everyone affected by this heartbreaking incident. These acts of violence must never become our norm,” she added.

Favour Benson called on Nigerians to remain united in the fight against insecurity and to keep striving toward a country where children can grow up without fear.
“As Nigerians, we must stand together in unity and work towards a nation where every child can live in safety and hope,” she said.

She urged security agencies and individuals with credible information to support ongoing efforts to rescue the abducted Kebbi schoolgirls.
“Everything must be done to bring the Kebbi girls home safely. I urge anyone with credible information to come forward in whatever safe and responsible way they can,” she said.

The humanitarian advocate prayed for the safe return of the abducted students and for comfort for grieving families in Kwara.
“May God watch over the girls until they return. May He comfort the grieving families in Kwara, bring peace to our nation, and put every sponsor of violence to shame,” she concluded.
