Fayose Reacts To Presidential Tribunal Ruling In Atiku vs Buhari
The immediate past Governor f Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has backed the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by completely rejecting the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
YaahooJournalist had reported earlier on Wednesday, that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) dismissed the petition of the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Justice Mohammed Garba, who led a five-man panel of justices, said while delivering judgment: “This petition is accordingly, and hereby dismissed in its entirety.
“In the final result, and I have come to the conclusion which is inevitable and unavoidable, that the petitioners have not proved any of the grounds of the petition in paragraph 15 of the petition.
“This petition is accordingly and hereby dismissed in its entirety.”
Following the ruling, a statement emerged on social media claiming that Fayose, a stunt critic of President Buhari, congratulated the President over the victory.
Reacting in a tweet on Twitter, Fayose wrote: “Nigerians should disregard any congratulatory message issued in my name on the outcome of the Presidential Election Judgment.
“My party has indicated its intention to appeal the judgment, and as a party man and believer in the PDP/ATIKU 2019 project, I can’t author such a statement.”
