Fayose Roasts Obasanjo Over Statement On Dead Buruji Kashamu
Fayose has berated Obasanjo over his statement on dead Buruji Kashamu.
NewsOne Nigeria had Senator Buruji Kashamu died of Coronavirus. Before his death, Buruji Kashamu was the immediate past senator representing Ogun East at the Nigerian Senate.
Buruji, who represented the senatorial district in the 8th National Assembly, was 62 years old. Senator Buruji Kashamu died on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at First Cardiology Consultants in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city.
Reacting to Kashamu’s death, former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo sent a message of condolences to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun on the death of the Senator.
Obasanjo who described Kashamu’s death as a great loss in a letter on Saturday, however, lamented that “Kashamu in his lifetime used the manoeuvre of law and politics to escape from facing justice on alleged criminal offence in Nigeria and outside Nigeria.”
Reacting to Obasanjo’s statement, Ayodele Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State, berated Obasanjo, saying Nigerians are waiting for his end.
The former governor said it was unsavoury for former President Obasanjo to have made such comment when Kashamu could not defend himself.
Fayose bombs Obasanjo
Fayose wrote on Twitter: “I commiserate with the family of Senator Buruji Kashamu for this irreparable loss and pray for the repose of his soul. The Almighty God will console those he left behind.
“I also condemn the statement made by former President Obasanjo on his (Kashamu) death.
“Can Obasanjo say in good conscience that he did not at some point collaborated with Kashamu and most of the things he (Kashamu) did politically were not with his collaboration?
“Nigerians will watch out for Obasanjo’s own end. He should stop forming saint because he is not. He should also remember that his own end will come too and nobody knows how the end will be,” Fayose berated Obasanjo over his statement on dead Buruji Kashamu.
