FCT Minister Wike Speaks On Supporting Trump's Threat of Invading Nigeria

Nyesome Wike.

FCT Minister Wike has reacted to Trump’s threat of invading Nigeria.

Newsone Nigeria reports that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says he would support the President of the United States, Donald Trump, if he provides technology to combat terrorism in Nigeria.

This online news platform understands that the FCT Minister made this comment on Monday while responding to questions in an interview on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television monitored by this reporter.

Newsone recalls that President Trump, in a post on Truth Social on Saturday, November 1, 2025, noted that the Nigerian government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, must act immediately to stop what he called the ongoing genocide against Christians.

“I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action,” said Mr Trump. “If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our cherished Christians!”

“Warning: The Nigerian government better move fast!”

The United States President also threatened to cut all aid to Nigeria while calling on his Nigerian counterpart, President Bola Tinubu, to undertake proactive measures to immediately tackle the situation or risk the United States conducting military action to “wipe out Islamic terrorists.”

“If the Nigerian government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria and may very well go into that now disgraced country, ‘guns-a-blazing,’ to completely wipe out the Islamic terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities,” the American leader added.

Responding, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory said, “It is not enough for me to capitalise that people are dying in Plateau, Benue, and other places.

“I have said that I will support Trump in providing and supporting Nigeria with technology in the fight against terrorism. I will also support any country that wants to proffer solutions in tackling terrorism in Nigeria.”
