New international flights resumption date has been announced by the Federal Government.

NewsOne Nigeria reports that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has announced the postponement of the resumption of international flights till September 5th, 2020, amid coronavirus in Nigeria.

This is coming after  Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika earlier announced that international flights would commence operations on August 29, 2020, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport in Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

“Glad to announce the resumption of international flights from the 29th of August, 2020. Beginning with Lagos and Abuja as we did with the domestic flight resumption,” the minister had said.

Sirika added that all protocols must be observed. “Protocols and procedures will be announced in due course. We thank you for your patience,” he added.

Meanwhile, NewsOne Nigeria understands that new international flights resumption date was moved by another one week to allow the Federal Government to provide logistics and perfect COVID-19 preventive strategies at entry ports into the country.
