The Presidency has quashed rumours in some quarters stating that Abba Kyari is dead.

Newsone Nigeria reports that rumours had emerged suggesting that Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari has died from complications from coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.

This rumour resulted in a major topic of contention in the Nigerian Twitter on Thursday when controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, alleged that a high ranking member of the President  Buhari administration has died from the coronavirus complications. She, however, refused to mention the name of the high ranking member of the President’s cabinet.

She tweeted: “#BREAKINGFlag of Nigeria A HIGH RANKING member of President Buhari’s Cabinet has DIED Coffinof #CoronaVirus #Covid9Squared sosSkull and crossbonesFace with medical mask complications. I will give the feds the honour of announcing it. U cannot hide it like Yar’Adua. I’m not telling because I value NATIONAL SECURITY OF NIGERIA #drkemiolunloyo.”

However, reacting to the rumour, after Lolo Okoye raised the alarm over the whereabouts of the President’s Chief of Staff, Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant on New Media to President Buhari said Kyari is in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city and responding well to treatment.

Newsone Nigeria reports that the Personal Assistant on New Media to President Buhari made this known in a tweet on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Friday, April 3, 2020.

“Though I really don’t know who this Lola is, but someone close to her should pls tell her to leave Abba Kyari to recuperate in peace, he’s in Lagos & responding well to treatment. If it’s caring she should also use the same energy to ask the whereabouts of other #COVID19 patients,” Ahmad tweeted.

Meanwhile, Nigerians have since reacted to the claim that High Ranking Member Of Buhari’s cabinet has passed away due to coronavirus complications.
