Former Anambra Governor Willie Obiano Disgraced In Onitsha Main Market [Video]

Former Anambra Governor Willie Obiano disgraced in Onitsha Main Market.

Newsone reports that the immediate past governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano was disgraced on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, when he accompanied his wife, Ebelechukwu Obiano to campaign for her ahead of the 2023 general elections.

This online news platform understands that Willie Obiano’s wife is contesting the 2023 Anambra North senatorial district election on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Newsone Nigeria recalls that Mrs. Obiano defeated Governor Obiano’s former chief of staff, Primus Odili, in a keenly contested primary in May 2022.

Declaring Mrs. Obiano the winner, Ikenna Osuji, the returning officer of the committee which organised the primary, said she scored 152 votes to defeat Mr. Odili who had 120 votes. Two other aspirants, Sam Onwuteaka and Tony Nnacheta got two votes each.

In order to sell the candidature of his wife, Willie Obiano took the campaign to Onitsha Main Market where he got what he did not bargain for.

While the former Anambra governor might have expected a rousing welcome, the reverse was the case as he and his wife were disgraced at the market by the traders suspected to be supporters of Peter Obi, the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party and a former Anambra State Governor.

Newsone reports that while Obiano was campaigning for his wife, chants of obi obi obi from the traders subdued his voice. The deafening chants made Obiano and his wife hurriedly leave the market earlier than expected.

Our beloved ex came back to us😁..
I love how Ndị Anambra are waking up, only if the same energy can be used to vote, then we are fully awake.

Meanwhile, Newsone Nigeria recalls Willie Obiano and his wife made major headlines last year. While his wife made the headlines for getting into a fight with Bianca Ojukwu, the former Governor on the other hand, was the “talk of the town” after he was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for corruption a few hours after handing over.
