I Am Under Pressure To Leave Nigeria – Peter Obi Cries Out
Peter Obi has lamented that he is under pressure to leave Nigeria.
Newsone reports that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, says he is under pressure to leave Nigeria, West Africa after the 2023 Presidential Election.
This online news platform understands that Obi, in a statement on Wednesday night, slammed the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party and some government agencies, accusing them of propaganda.
The former Anambra State Governor also insisted the viral audio of him and Bishop David Oyedepo of the Winners’ Chapel is fake.
This online news platform understands that the leaked audio in which Obi described the 2023 presidential election as a ‘religious war’, had been trending since an online newspaper, Peoples Gazette, published it on Saturday, April 1, 2023.
Oyedepo prayed for Obi in the leaked phone conversation, saying, “In Jesus’ name, we are going to get a bright tomorrow,” with Obi replying by saying, “When I hear these prayers, it is very dear to me and like I keep saying, if this thing works, you people will never regret the support.”
Continuing the conversation, Bishop Oyedepo said, “We look forward to God’s intervention,” Obi responded, “Thank you, Daddy. I need you to speak to your people in the Southwest and Kwara. The Christians in the Southwest and Kwara.” Bishop Oyedepo said: “Okay.”
Obi continued by saying, “This is a religious war,” with Oyedepo responding immediately, “I believe you, I believe that. You know, I did a release, ‘Nigeria going forward’ and I’m coming out with the second one today.”
However, reacting to the leaked audio in a series of tweets on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, Obi described the audio as “fake“, adding that “no time throughout the campaign and now” did he “ever say, think, or even imply that the 2023 election is, or was a religious war.”
Newsone Nigeria reports that the Labour Party Presidential Candidate lamented that the “attempts to manipulate Nigerians is very sad and wicked”, adding that his legal team has been “instructed to take appropriate legal actions against Peoples Gazette and others.”
These have come and continued to manifest in different ways, such as the malicious accusation of the Minister of Information, Mr Lai Mohammed, the circulation of a fake doctored audio call, and a pressure on me to leave the country.

Peter Obi said: “The present attempts by the APC as a Party, and the APC Led-government through some government officials and agencies to divert our attention from our blatantly stolen mandate is unfortunate and sad.
“These have come and continued to manifest in different ways, such as the malicious accusation of the Minister of Information, Mr Lai Mohammed, the circulation of a fake doctored audio call, and a pressure on me to leave the country.
“Let me reiterate that the audio call being circulated is fake, and at no time throughout the campaign and now did I ever say, think, or even imply that the 2023 election is, or was a religious war,” Peter Obi added in a series of tweets.
