Imam of Peace has backed the ongoing #EndSARS protests across various states in Nigeria.
Newsone Nigeria reports that Imam of Peace whose real name is Mohammad Tawhidi, is a Muslim influencer and reformist Imam, who has been a top critic of President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria.
Imam of Peace, who took some time off social media, returned on Friday, October 16, and lent his voice to the ongoing #EndSARS protests across Nigeria which has enjoyed supports from Twitter, Google and others.
Newsone Nigeria reports that Nigerian youths are agitating for the end to Police brutalization and extra judicial killings of Nigerians.
The Nigerian youths have been on the streets for more than a week now, protesting the brutalities, humiliation, and extortion of Nigerians, especially the youths.
During the protests, the protesters demanded an end to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a police unit under the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department headed by the Deputy Inspector General of Police Anthony Ogbizi, using a hashtag: #EndSARS.
Imam Of Peace demands for Buhari’s arrest
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu disbanded SARS on Sunday, October 11, 2020, following a widespread protest from Nigerians worldwide but despite this, the protesters have refused to leave the streets.
Backing the protests in a series of tweets, Imam of Peace said : “The @UN Security Council and United States @StateDept need to both investigate Buhari’s corruption and designate SARS and Fulani militants as terrorists.”

The Islamic scholar also berated President Buhari, describing the Nigerian leader as corrupt and “biggest criminal in Africa” for allegedly supporting Boko Haram terrorism in Nigeria.
Imam of Peace tweeted: “Buhari is a criminal. He has: 1- Freed thousands of Boko Haram terrorists from prison. 2- Allowed genocide and massacres against Christians and members of his own army. 3- Failed to *appropriately* address #SARS terrorism. 4- and remains the chief of Fulani militant thugs.”

He continued that “Buhari creates the problem and then promises to solve it. He fails to solve it, and so he blames everyone else but himself. Buhari is the problem, and terrorists in Nigeria such as Boko Haram and Fulani thugs have become powerful and wealthy under his rule. SARS has now joined.

On the ongoing #EndSARS protests in Nigeria, Imam of Peace said: “It’s not enough to #EndSARS. Every one found guilty of murder or any crime must be put on trial. This will not happen during Buhari’s failed Presidency. Buhari must resign and the entire mafia: Buhari, Fulani militia, captured Boko Haram and SARS Terrorists must face the law.”

Imam of Peace added that: “If the president is openly corrupt then the police will naturally be openly corrupt. If Buhari really wants to end SARS, Fulani crime and Boko Haram’s terrorism, then he must first resign and allow someone else to do the job – because a criminal doesn’t fight crime.”
