The All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to takeover Shoprite, MTN, DSTV and other South African businesses in Nigeria.

YaahooJournalist reports that the call from the ruling party, which came on Thursday evening, is as a result of the recent Xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and foreigners in South Africa.

YaahooJournalist reports that properties including cars belonging to Nigerians in the country were set ablaze by South Africans in the wake of the Xenophobic attacks.

In a viral video, South Africans also looted shops belonging to Nigerians. No fewer than three persons were reportedly killed.

Reacting to the Xenophobic attacks in South Africa on Thursday during an emergency National Working Committee (NWC) in Abuja, APC requested the revocation of licenses of banks owned by the South Africans.
YaahooJournalist understands that Stanbic IBTC and Standard Chartered banks are on the list.
