President Muhammadu Buhari will address Nigerians later today in a live broadcast over the outbreak of COVID-19.

Newsone Nigeria reports that Buhari will address Nigerians over the outbreak of coronavirus in the country in a live broadcast which is scheduled for 7 pm.

This burgeoning online news platform understands that the development was disclosed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Femi Adesina on Sunday afternoon, March 29.

Adesina said the live broadcast of the President will be on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President asked all television, radio and other electronic media outlets to hook up to the networks.

Meanwhile, Newsone Nigeria reports that Buhari’s live broadcast will be coming a day after the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced that the number of coronavirus in Nigeria has risen to ninety-seven (97).

“Eight new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria; 2 in FCT, 4 in Oyo, 1 in Kaduna and 1 in Osun State As at 10:40 pm 28th March there are 97 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria with 1 death.

“As at 10:40 pm 28th March, there are 97 confirmed cases 1 death For a breakdown of cases by states in real-time, please see http://covid19.ncdc.gov.ng Currently; Lagos- 59 FCT- 16 Ogun- 3 Enugu- 2 Ekiti- 1 Oyo- 7 Edo- 2 Bauchi- 2 Osun-2 Rivers-1 Benue- 1 Kaduna- 1,” the tweet added.
