Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara has defected to the APC.
Newsone Nigeria reports that the governor of Rivers State, south-south Nigeria, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the nation’s ruling party.
Governor Fubara announced on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, during a stakeholders’ meeting at the Government House in Port Harcourt, marking a major political shift in the state.
“This decision reflects my commitment to ensuring stable governance and aligning with partners who support the progress of Rivers State,” he reportedly told attendees.
