Hold Buhari accountable for whatever may happen to Nnamdi Kanu – IPOB
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has called on the world to hold President Muhammadu Buhari accountable for whatever may happen to its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
IPOB was reacting to Buhari’s comment when he met with British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson in Rwanda.
Buhari had said that Kanu might not get bail again after he jumped bail and fled to the UK where he was attacking Nigeria until he was caught in Kenya.
“The world should hold Buhari accountable for whatever that may happen to Kanu,” IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful said in a statement on Sunday.
According to IPOB, the United Kingdom Prime Minister specifically asked Buhari why Kanu was still in detention but that instead of responding to the question frontally, Buhari chose to play to the gallery.
“Is it that he was not aware that his military personnel invaded Kanu’s Afaraukwu country home on September 14, 2017, or that he deliberately decided to be mischievous?
“The video evidence of the military invasion of his house which claimed no fewer than 30 lives, only confirmed that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu did what was needful for the moment,” the group said.
Nnamdi Kanu bail: IPOB leader’s lawyer explains court order to UK PM, Boris Johnson
Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, has explained to British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson that his client did not jump bail in 2017 as claimed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari made the claim on Thursday during a bilateral meeting with Johnson on the sideline of the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Kigali, Rwanda.
He, then, said that political solution or bail could not be offered to the separatist leader, a statement that has unsettled Kanu’s lawyers and supporters.
Reacting on Saturday as done in previous moments, Ejimakor argued that his client did not jump bail but fled for safety.
Ejimakor had defended Kanu’s departure to the United Kingdom following invasion of his ancestral home in Umuahia, Abia state by security agents where deaths recorded and many injured.
On Saturday, he explained on Twitter by quoting a Court ruling in January this year had asked the Federal Government to apologise and compensate Kanu over attack on his residence by security agents in 2017, and as such it could be regarded that the separatist agitator jumped bail.
“Dear @BorisJohnson: On JUMPING BAIL, the Court ruled that “It is the view of this Court that the Army set out to terminate the life of Nnamdi Kanu. The invasion of his home is so notorious that this Court cannot turn a blind eye to it. He deserves an apology & compensation”. #MNK”

Release Nnamdi Kanu to douse tension in S-East, Anglican Church tells FG
CHURCH of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Diocese on the Niger, has said that the different shocking methods which terrorists have employed in fueling insecurity in Nigeria, is instructive enough to compel the Nigerian military to rejig their own strategy to contain them.
The Diocese on the Niger also said that the current bizarre terrorists’ methods of operation particularly, the one they employed in the recent blood-chilling Kaduna train attack as well as the different ways they have adopted in launching sporadic attacks in almost every state of the federation, is an indictment to the aggregation of Nigerian security intelligence.
The Diocese position is contained in the Bishop’s Charge, delivered by the Bishop, Diocese on the Niger, Rt Rev. Owen Nwokolo, to the 1st Session of the 32nd Synod of the the Diocese held at All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha, Anambra State.
Bishop Nwokolo, while delivering the Bishop’s Charge, with the theme, “Go-Make Disciples of All Nations” however, commended the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government for his current mobilization of Nigerian security personnel in preventing terrorist invasion of the country, but noted that the efforts of the Federal Government in tackling insecurity in the country is not enough to overcome the insecurity challenge facing the country.
“The federal government should tactfully beef up the nations military strength by voting adequate budget and diligently appropriating same for quality military personnel and modern fighting hardwares, as Nigerians can no longer tolerate the ongoing senseless killings in the country.”

The gunmen visited two other communities on the same day and killed about five other persons.
The Orumba North LGA is among the communities that the State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has imposed a 6pm to 6am curfew on during a live broadcast on Wednesday.

But the IPOB through its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, in a statement on Friday, said, “We have always said it that the terrorists were imported into Biafra land to commit the ongoing atrocities all in an attempt to discredit our struggle, demonise IPOB and proscribe it, then lobby and bribe Britain to tag us a terror group with the hope to stop our match to freedom.”
Powerful said those involved in the “barbarity” of killing the Hausa woman and children should wait for the repercussions of the evil they committed against the innocent woman and her children.
He insisted that the criminal elements behind the killing were not IPOB and that they should be prepared to pay for their heinous crime.
He accused the military of harbouring Fulani terrorists in their barracks and giving them ID cards for identification, adding that the terrorists were transferred into the southeast territory.
The statement read in part, “IPOB has severally said that these criminal elements are not part of us and they should allow Hausa do their legitimate business in our land because Hausa too suffer the same fate we are facing in the hands of Fulani terrorists claiming they are herdsmen in Nigeria.
