Maina son Faisal has bagged 14 years in jail.
Newsone reports that a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, has convicted Faisal, son of a former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina, and sentenced him to 14 years in prison on charges of money laundering.
This online news platform understands that Justice Okon Abang in a judgment on Thursday, October 7, 2021, found Faisal guilty on the three-count money laundering charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigeria’s anti-graft agency.
Newsone Nigeria reports that Justice Abang in the ruling, held among others, that the prosecution effectively discharged the burden placed on it by law to prove the offences charged beyond a reasonable doubt.
