Newsone Nigeria reports that a popular Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu is dead. This online news platform gathered that the Nollywood Legend who was amputated in both legs last year reportedly passed away on Saturday evening, March 2, 2024.
Details surrounding the cause of death and the veracity of these reports are still unclear. Mr Ibu’s family and representatives have yet to comment publicly.
Mr Ibu died of cardiac arrest. This was made known by the president of the Actors Guild.

In November 2023, the family of Mr. Ibu revealed that the actor had undergone seven surgeries but to keep his hope of staying alive, one of his legs was amputated.
The family had said the actor successfully underwent five surgeries and would be flown abroad for further treatment before he finally passed on.
