Yaahoo Journalist recalls that Nwaoboshi emerged the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party on October 2, 2018, primary of the party held in Delta state, southeast Nigeria.

Apparently displeased with the outcome of the election, Nwoko filed a suit to challenge the emergence of Nwaoboshi.

Nwoko, a 59-year-old politician, who is married to Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, was pronounced senator after an Abuja high court sacked Peter Nwaoboshi on the grounds that he was not the duly elected candidate of the PDP in the primary election.

However, Nwaobishi, who was dissatisfied with the judgment, appealed the judgment before a court of higher jurisdiction.

In response, the court ruled that the initial case filed by Nwoko before the high court is statute-barred as it exceeded 14 days from the time of the incidence that birthed the suit.

The appeal court returned Nwaobishi as a senator for Delta-north.

Displeased with the judgment, Nwoko proceeded to the supreme court to challenge the decision of the appeal court.

However, on Tuesday, July 16, Justice Inyang Okoro-led five-man panel in a ruling, dismissed the suits for lack of jurisdiction.
