Nigeria Labour Congress Tables Fresh Demand Over Fuel Price Hike
Nigeria Labour Congress has tabled a fresh demand over the fuel price hike.
Newsone Nigeria reports that the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has demanded an “immediate reversal” of the pump price of petrol across the country.
This online news platform understands that the Nigeria Labour Congress made the demand in a post on the micro-blogging site, X formerly known as Twitter on Tuesday night, September 3, 2024, in reaction to the increase in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit from N650 to N855 per litre across Nigeria by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited.
The post reads: “We demand the immediate reversal of the latest increase in the pump of PMS across the country.”

Earlier, the union claimed they felt betrayed by President Bola Tinubu after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, increased the official price of fuel from N617 to N897 per litre.
NLC president, Joe Ajaero, claimed that why they accepted the N70,000 minimum wage was an understanding that there would be no further increase in the price of fuel.
The NLC President threatened that in the coming days, the appropriate organs of Congress will be meeting to make appropriate decisions which will be made public.
