1. President Muhammadu Buhari has consoled Nigerians who lost their loved ones in the recent terrorists’ attacks. According to his spokesman, Garba Shehu, the President who reviewed the recent terrorists’ attacks on Tuesday, assured of full support from the federal government to the affected States.

2. The vice presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Kashim Shettima, yesterday, assured Nigerians that when elected, his principal, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu would be just and fair to all Nigerians, irrespective of tribe, religion, and political affiliations.

3. Seven persons said to be security guards were reportedly killed by gunmen, Monday night, in Orogwe community, Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State. It was also gathered that many others were injured in the area during the attack.

4. Subject to ratification by President Muhammadu Buhari, Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, will co-ordinate the presidential campaign council of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, as Director-General. His deputy will be former Edo State Governor and ex-National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

5. Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC, yesterday, blamed Nigeria’s economic woes, including the free fall of the Naira value and high cost of living on unabated oil theft and asset vandalism. Country Head, Corporate Relations, SPDC, Igo Weli stated this during an interaction with the media in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

6. The Nigeria Railway Corporation has suspended the Lagos-Kano and Ajaokuta train services due to fear of terrorists’ attacks. It was also learnt that the NRC suspended services at the Ajaokuta station along Warri-Itakpe route because of the attack on some passengers by gunmen on Monday.

7. Hundreds of members of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State stormed the streets of Osogbo on Tuesday to demand the removal of the party’s State chairman, Gboyega Famoodun, following the party’s defeat in the State governorship election held on July 16.

8. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Tuesday, lamented the high cost of diesel, saying it is taking a toll on his business. Obasanjo, who is a fish farmer, said he has been sweating because of the high cost of diesel.

9. Five of the passengers who were abducted from a Kaduna-bound train on March 28, 2022, have been released. Among the freed passengers are Prof. Mustapha Umar Imam, a medical doctor at the Usman Dan Fodio University Teaching Hospital (UDUS), Sokoto.

10. Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment, has revealed that voluntary conciliation was adopted to ensure a quick resolution of the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). Ngige disclosed this on Tuesday at a three-day capacity-building workshop on International Labour Standards and Dispute Resolution in Nigeria in Abuja.
