Nigerians React As Wike Sues Atiku And Tambuwal Over PDP Ticket
Nigerians have reacted to Wike’s lawsuit against Atiku and Tambuwal over the PDP ticket.
Newsone had reported earlier that the governor of Rivers State, southern Nigeria, Nyesom Wike filed a lawsuit against Atiku Abubakar over the 2023 presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party.
This online news platform understands that Governor Wike filed the lawsuit alongside another PDP member Michael Ekamon, according to filings entered before the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court. The applicants also joined the PDP, Governor Aminu Tambuwal, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the matter.
The parties were served on July 1, and a PDP official responded to the originating summons on August 5 in Abuja. The lawsuit could complicate the main opposition party’s drive and message leading to the 2023 general elections — for a platform already bogged down by the upswing of Peter Obi and his Labour Party base.
Newsone Nigeria reports that Governor Wike’s suit is coming at a time a reconciliation panel has commenced sitting to resolve a cold war between Atiku and Wike over the outcome of the presidential primary and the selection of a running mate by Atiku. The crisis escalated last week when Wike publicly accused Atiku of lying about the extent of the infighting while allegedly instigating attacks through Sule Lamido and others, calling them “attack dogs.”
Governor Wike has been seething over the convention outcome for several weeks, and his anger intensified after Mr Abubakar passed him over for Ifeanyi Okowa as the vice-presidential candidate. Mr Abubakar said competence and loyalty weighed heavily in his considerations for a running mate.
The Rivers Governor came second during the primary, scoring 237 votes to trail Atiku, who polled 371 votes from the total 767 votes cast at the convention ground in Abuja. The Rivers governor blamed his defeat on Tambuwal’s decision to step down for Atiku at the last minute, describing the process as unfair — even though he did not argue that it violated the party’s standing rules.
Reacting to the Wike’s suit against Atiku and Tambuwal, Nigerians took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter, to air their opinions on the matter.

He invited an APC governor, former sokoto governor(APC member) and the current speaker to commission his project.
He brought down PDP flag and warn people not to campaign for atiku in his state.
He has now drag atiku and tambuwal to Court.
This is wike for you.

Apparently, Wike filed a lawsuit against Atiku, Tambuwal and INEC over a month ago.
Now I believe the rumors that Atiku tried to hijack PDP structures in Rivers.
The infighting is even more intense than it appears.
Please, keep fighting

If Tambuwal hadn’t stepped down that night, Wike would have won, Tambuwal second , Atiku third.
Tambuwal had more delegates than Atiku

What I like about myself is that I’m not afraid of Tweeter Maggots I will say the truth and it will sure on your screens…. @atiku policy can fix Nigeria’s problems and I always for him. #Wike #Tambuwal #Kwankwaso #MrPresident #DeJong #NewNigeria

Apparently, Wike promised to remain loyal to PDP until Atiku & Tambuwal played regional politics on him. They then sent their boys to be insulting him and tried to poach his men in Rivers State while reconciliation was ongoing.

In all honesty Wike is right, people like Atiku, Tambuwal, and some other politicians that have defected from PDP to APC back to PDP do not merit anything in PDP. They brought this bad and shameful government to us. They should not be rewarded with a ticket 🎟 in 2023 elections.

Bros, the northern is hurting the southerner, it’s unfair and that’s why wike wants to correct it once and for all. Atiku, Saraki and all run to APC, wike used his resources. 2018 primary wike bankrolled Tambuwal for presidency primary in PH I was there live. They played him in.. https://t.co/CwA0mHqxmG

Tambuwal taught Wike a lesson he will never forget till eternity. He earns my respect for that. Where was Wike when Atiku fought OBJ over 3rd term?

But I think Wike should shift his anger for Atiku to Tambuwal his bossom friend who betrayed him at PDP primary. Peter Obi Tambuwal Deji Daton

Wike was beaten twice. Tambuwal political masterpiece at the PDP convention is the game changer, while Atiku dribbled him & single handedly chose Okowa as running mate.
“In Politics principles, No Permanent friend or enemy”. It is a game of inclusion & exclusion.

There was no way Atiku would’ve trumped Wike without Tambuwal’s support. The margin of Atiku’s victory was a pointer. https://t.co/U2RIfpljyN

Every time, Wike was betrayed, Wike was betrayed.
I don’t understand. Wasn’t there an election? How was he betrayed when he lost?
Tambuwal stepped down for Atiku, I’m sorry isn’t that what politics is about?
Mad man.

Why is Atiku worried after Tambuwal gifted him the PDP ticket at Wike’s expense?
The last time Atiku said he had 11m votes in his office locker. The Delegates he bought votes from will supply the balance for him to win.#PeterObi4President2023 Dipo Omojuwa. https://t.co/vdbOOndpYg
