A northern governor has defected to the APC.
Newsone Nigeria reports that Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The Northern governor, in a statewide broadcast on Friday, said he defected with his entire cabinet and all the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, officials.
According to the governor, his action was for the developmental interest of the people of Adamawa State.
Earlier in the week, 15 lawmakers of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, including Bathiya Wesley, the speaker of the house, and Buba Jijiwa, his deputy, resigned from the PDP.
The lawmakers attributed their defections to the “lingering crisis” in the PDP.
With Fintiri’s defection, the PDP is now left with three governors.

Meanwhile, Newsone recalls that Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefa, and his Kano and Plateau States counterparts, Abba Yusuf and Caleb Muftwang, respectively, recently joined the ruling party.
