Newsone Nigeria reports that NASIMS, the entity within the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development responsible for overseeing the Federal Government Npower Programme, has taken significant steps in disbursing long-awaited Stipends to Batch C Stream 2 Npower beneficiaries.
The process of Stipends Payment began on Tuesday, marking the first occurrence after NASIMS transitioned to its new Self-Service Portal (SSP) ssp.nasims.gov.ng.
The rationale behind introducing the new SSP Portal was to enhance the management of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) by providing beneficiaries with access to streamlined services, including seamless Stipend payments, thanks to its advanced features.
By utilizing the SSP Portal, Npower beneficiaries can now receive their Stipends simultaneously, while also having real-time access to their payment records and statuses, such as “processing,” “completed,” or “failed payments,” all within their NASIMS SSP Profile.
Furthermore, NASIMS is actively addressing the backlog of Outstanding Stipends Payment for the months of October, November, and December 2022. This payment also extends to the recently shortlisted Batch C Stream 2 Npower beneficiaries, particularly those who successfully completed the validation process in June and early July 2023.
While beneficiaries can expect the payment to be credited to their respective bank accounts, it is essential to note that the timing may vary, considering the use of different bank accounts by individual beneficiaries. Although the payment initiation occurs simultaneously, the duration may differ from one bank to another, with an estimated processing time not exceeding 48 hours.
In light of this, patience is highly encouraged among beneficiaries to avoid undue stress during the disbursement process.
To stay informed about the status of their Stipend Payment, beneficiaries are advised to monitor the new Self Service Portal closely. This will enable them to determine which months have been completely paid, are in the processing stage, or encountered payment issues, thereby reducing anxiety and facilitating appropriate complaints, which can be lodged through the NASIMS SSP Portal or verified Npower Social Media Handles.
