NYSC allowance arrears for serving corps members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been confirmed.
YaahooJournalist reports that the NYSC allowance arrears for corps members, is coming a few days after the Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim disclosed that the NYSC allowance 2020 has been pecked at N33,000.
The NYSC DG disclosed this while speaking to Corps Members at the NYSC Bauchi State Secretariat during his working visit to the State.
“Ibrahim explained that contrary to the various amounts being circulated on the social media, the sum of thirty-three thousand naira had been approved as the new rate,” a statement on NYSC official Facebook page read.
YaahooJournalist reports that the NYSC allowance arrears show that corps members in 2019 Batch A will earn as much as N118,800 in arrears covering the period between April and December of 2019.
Corps members in 2019 Batch B stream 1 will earn an estimated amount of N105,200 within the period of June and December while those in Batch B stream 2 will look forward to receiving the sum of N66,000.
YaahooJournalist reports that corps members in 2018 Batch B stream 1 and 2, and Batch C streams 1 and 2 are expected to earn 26,400, 39,600 and 79,200, 92,400 respectively.
Meanwhile, YaahooJournalist understands that the amount approved as Corps Members’ monthly allowance by the Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari, is in line with the new National Minimum Wage.
