Yaahoo Journalist reports that the Director-General of the NYSC, Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, denied the report during an interview with PRNigeria on Wednesday, July 17.

The NYSC DG said the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration was yet to give NYSC a go-ahead on the implementation of the new national minimum wage.

His words: “When there is an increment and we have been notified, we will communicate the heartwarming decision to our corps members through appropriate channels.

“And certainly, the management will make sure that our corps members are paid according to the new increment.”

The NYSC DG urged corps members to only source information from the NYSC verified social media accounts.

Meanwhile, Yaahoo Journalist reports that the clarification is coming after the President approved the immediate implementation of the N30,000 new national minimum wage.

Yaahoo Journalist understands that the immediate implementation of the N30,000 new national wage is for Federal Public Service workers currently earning below the minimum wage.
